The United Kingdom and France figured strongly as the MAPIC Awards 2009. The jury, chaired by Sharon Fernández-Cavada King, Directora de Agencia, Retail – Oficinas - Industrial & Logística, DTZ (Spain), met in Paris on Friday 25 September to select the finalists. Designed to reward the professionalism and skills of key players in the retail real estate sector, the MAPIC Awards give international recognition to the winners. Sedef Okman, Corporate Communications Manager, Koton (Turkey), who won an award last year in the Retail success story category, recalls his experience: “It was a great honour for us to win an award from the most important retail organisation with existence of participation from Europe to Far East. We had great media coverage and we believe having this global award improved our brand perception in the global arena.”
The winners will be named at a prize-giving ceremony to be held during MAPIC, in the Palais des Festivals at 6.30 pm on Thursday 19 November. To celebrate the event, MAPIC invites all participants to continue the festivities at the Hotel Martinez from 10 pm.
