			| Aperto a Berlino il
			Centro Commerciale "Schloss-Straßen-Center" |
			|
			29 marzo 2007
			inaugurazione:
"The Schloss-Straßen-Center is opening its doors: just in time for
the Easter business the new shopping center is expecting its first
visitors at 9am on 29 March. Where the former Hertie department
store used to be on the Walther-Schreiber-Platz, a new shopping
attraction has been built. More than 70 stores on three levels offer
new quality shopping and enrich the selection of goods offered in
			the Schloßstraße.
The Schloss-Straßen-Center (SSC) was developed by Generali
Lebensversicherung AG and the Berlin real estate company Tenkhoff
Properties and marks the entrance to the popular shopping street "Schloßstraße"
in the south-west of Berlin. On approx. 16,100 square meters of
rental space, the SSC offers a great variety of shops with something
for the whole family. The large store areas have been taken by the
clothing company ZARA, by the supermarket Rewe as well as the toy
shop Toys’R’Us. A dm pharmacy as well as the new concept "Max" from
the DIY chain Max Bahr are to be found in the basement. Further
well-known clothing companies as well as a large eating area
complete the picture. All those involved are especially proud of the
more than 500 new jobs which have been created and the large number
of tenants from Berlin and the surrounding area.
The high quality of the interior and exterior architecture of the
SSC also sets new standards for the Schlossstraße. The property
stands out mainly because of its lavish facade design with interplay
between natural travertine stone and glass elements. The front of
the main entrance area on the Walther-Schreiber-Platz is impressive
due to its large-scale glass facade. The internal and external light
effects set the ideal scene for the SSC. A special architectural
highlight is the escalators set in two glass spheres. These allow
daylight even into the basement and thus provide the three shopping
floors with a very pleasant atmosphere".
