Ecco come Allianz Immobilien GmbH, proprietaria dell'immobile,
descrive "Europa Passage" in una Nota di Stampa diffusa
immediatamente dopo la proclamazione: "The Europa Passage in Hamburg
was opened on 5 October 2006. Comprising 30,000 square meters of
retail space on five floors, it is one of the largest inner-city
shopping centers in Germany. The arcade was built according to the
design of the star architect Hadi Teherani.
The award was accepted by Mr Werner Oellers, managing director of
Allianz Immobilien GmbH, at a ceremony in the Palais des Festivals
in Cannes in the south of France. "We are delighted that this award
gives the Europa Passage international recognition for its
outstanding architecture", said Mr Oellers. It is not only the wide
range of shops and cafes and restaurants which make the five floors
of this futuristic glass building so special. Shop concepts such as,
for example, the first Oakley Shop in Germany, give the Europa
Passage its special profile. More than 70 percent of the tenants are
new to downtown Hamburg and many of them are establishing a foothold
in Germany or even in Europe for the very first time. Until the last
train leaves the underground railway station (the U-Bahn) –
Jungfernstieg station is directly accessible from the shopping mall
			– you can spend a pleasant evening here or simply "shop till you
drop". The Europa Passage is different from other conventional
arcades in that it receives its visitors like an authentic street in
a city. The 21 arches, which line the 160-meter-long arcade and
connect the five floors with each other, turn your shopping trip
into a walk through an arcade flooded with light. A glass panorama
elevator, which tempts visitors with a spectacular view of the
Binnenalster, transports you from the entrance on Ballindamm
directly to the food and drinks area on the second floor where you
will be rewarded with a breath-taking panorama of the city and its
streets. A view which you never had before. This architecture by
Hadi Teherani makes the Europa Passage an exciting new attraction
not only for the people of Hamburg themselves, but also for tourists.
The Europa Passage is a joint project by Allianz
Lebensversicherungs-AG and the HSH Nordbank AG, represented by
Allianz Immobilien GmbH. Allianz Centermanagement GmbH is
responsible for the running and management of the Europa Passage.
The investment volume totals approx. 430 million euros".
