In October 2019, as part of the 10th CTBUH World Congress, CTBUH held a one-day Symposium called First Skyscrapers | Skyscraper Firsts, centered around the question, “what was the first skyscraper?” Now, that illuminating discussion on fundamental turning points in skyscraper history is a 248-page book, featuring 28 essays by the leading architectural and real-estate historians of our time, on the enigmatic buildings that define our skylines.
