· The European senior housing investment volume totalled more than €700m since the beginning of the year. This is a record high.
· The growing number of seniors living longer and with greater purchasing power, which they spend largely on housing, suggests the senior housing sector in Europe is backed by strong fundamentals and is bound to expand in the next decade and beyond.
· To establish where in Europe the senior housing market has more potential for growth, Savills formed a Senior housing opportunity index. The final results show that Germany, France, UK, Italy and Poland top the index, each country backed by different prevailing drivers.
