As Laurent Diot, Nexity’s CFO since 2008, prepares to take on new operational responsibilities over the coming months for future Group projects, Julien Carmona joins Nexity’s management team as Deputy CEO in charge of finance and strategy.
Chief Financial Officer at Nexity since 2008, Laurent Diot started his career as project manager with Compagnie des Eaux et de l’Ozone (1991-1996), then Audit and Strategy Director at Compagnie Générale d’Immobilier et de Services (1996-2000), before joining Nexity in 2000 as Director of Development and later becoming Deputy Managing Director in charge of international affairs. He is 46 years old and holds a degree from the HEC business school.
At 43 years old, Julien Carmona has had a career encompassing work for the financial services industry (banking, insurance, asset management, etc.) and the public sector. He brings to the Group his experience in finance, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and change management in France as well as abroad. After beginning his career at France’s economy and finance ministry, then taking a job with BNP Paribas, Julien Carmona successively held the positions of economic advisor to the French president (2004-2007), member of the management board and CFO at Caisse nationale des Caisses d’épargne (CNCE) which later became BPCE (2007-2009), and Chief Operating Officer at SCOR SE (2009-2012). He is a state-designated public finance inspector (inspecteur des finances) as well as an alumnus of the École Normale Supérieure and the École Nationale d’Administration.
