More than 650 delegates are expected to attend the CoreNet Global Summit in Madrid next week (25th-27th September), representing a record attendance figure for the annual corporate real estate professionals event, which will be the largest yet held in Europe.
Attendees from all over the EMEA region and beyond have registered, with organizations from a total of 29 countries represented. Madrid also marks the seventeenth time that the global event has been held in Europe, and the second time that the city has been host.
This year’s theme, What’s Next? Exploiting Uncertainty, will explore how businesses can approach change and uncertainty strategically to drive business success, considering factors such as global shifts and emerging megatrends.
Highlights of this year’s summit will include keynote presentations from business philosopher and author Anders Indset and motivational speaker, entrepreneur, and professional poker player Caspar Berry. Indset will open the summit looking at how today’s leaders need to pair the philosophy of the past with the scientific knowledge and technology of tomorrow to manage change in an increasingly complex business world. Meanwhile, Berry will close the Summit with a session on risk taking and decision making in business using a unique perspective as a professional poker player, finding comparisons between playing cards and running a business, such as innovating, risk-taking, communicating, and decision-making.
The summit will also bring together expert speakers from a wide range of organisations, including Mastercard, WeWork, Facebook, Heineken, Unilever, Imperial College London, Bayer, ANZ, Microsoft, LinkedIn, EY, Nokia, Facebook, American Express, World Green Building Council, UBS, Publicis Communications Espana, Tech City Barcelona, Verizon and all offering insights into corporate real estate across more than 100 breakout sessions. Topics will address the summit theme but focus on areas as diverse as counter terrorism and commercial real estate, the GenZ worksphere, virtual and augmented reality, cryptocurrencies and blockchains, workplace design and wellbeing, smart buildings, and disruptive design.
There are also several programme innovations, including Podcast Parlor, facilitating thought provoking comments and conversations about corporate real estate which will be recorded on site by summit delegates for a brand-new podcast channel; and Co-Creation Lab, a highly interactive workshop focusing on “customer centricity”, putting end users at the centre of what is designed, built and implemented.
In addition to its focus on learning and knowledge sharing, the programme will also offer a range of networking opportunities hosted during the event, the highlight of which will be the Casino Night Networking Event on 26th September, where delegates can manage risk and play for prizes using phoney money. Other scheduled networking events include the welcome reception on 25th September and a closing cocktail on 27th September, plus networking luncheons and breaks during the main days of the summit, providing further opportunities to share insights with, and learn from, peers.
The CoreNet Global Summit in Madrid will take place at NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding on 25th-27th September 2018.
