(SEB ImmoInvest sells Grand Hyatt Hotel located at Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz)
SEB Asset Management has signed a purchase agreement with Al Rayyan Tourism and Investment (ARTIC, Qatar) on the five-star luxury hotel Grand Hyatt in Berlin-Mitte for its open-ended real estate fund SEB ImmoInvest.
With a total of 342 bedrooms, the hotel is part of the Quartier Potsdamer Platz complex, which comprises 19 properties. For the subsidiary of the Qatar-based
Al Faisal Holding this represents the second acquisition of a Berlin hotel-property belonging to SEB ImmoInvest’s portfolio.
The Quartier Potsdamer Platz has a gross floor space of 550,000 sqm and comprises 19 individual properties with a wide range of uses – from office, administrative and retail properties to residential buildings, entertainment facilities, gastronomy and hotels. Including the adjacent Gleisdreieck car park, which also belongs to the portfolio, approximately 3,800 parking spaces are available.
The German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) awarded the Quartier Potsdamer Platz with a silver certificate for sustainable urban quarters in October 2011.
