Corio has signed a contract with Primark to open a store in Centrum Galerie in Dresden in Germany with a sales area of 6,500 m2. The Primark store will anchor the centre over three levels. This is the first Primark in the east of Germany and the 12th in Germany.
Gerard Groener, CEO Corio: ‘We are delighted to enlarge our relationship with Primark after successful openings in Almere (December 2012) and Marseille (December 2013). With the experience we have, we are convinced that the Primark store will boost footfall, sales and therefore the quality and value of the centre, especially in Dresden. The deal was tailor made through close cooperation between the Primark and Corio teams. The store will be located on three levels and will be a major anchor for the shopping centre. In addition to that we are in advanced negotiation with a number of premium international fashion retailers for our newly designed upper floor that will round up the branch and tenant mix to a highly attractive level.’
The signature of Primark follows a flow of strong leasing activities and openings in the past few months among which: Primark in Grand Littoral in Marseille (opening of the first Primark in France on 16 December 2013) and Zara Flagship stores and expansion of more Inditex formulas in Le Gru in Turin, Campania in Naples, Porta di Roma and Grand littoral in Marseille.
