It gives me great pleasure to finally announce this year’s iconic venue for the seventeenth edition of the Global RLI Awards as RLI continues its successful association with British Embassies around the world. We are excited to be celebrating the world of retail & leisure together in the prestigious location of the Residence Gardens of the British Embassy in the Diplomatic Quarter, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on the 2 November. A truly unique venue which plays host to high profile events and I was privileged to attend Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday Jubilee Party there this year, a night I will always remember.
The British Embassy boasts one of the most beautiful gardens in the Diplomatic Quarter and is the perfect backdrop to present this year’s world-class award winners. It is also the perfect place to showcase the expanding market of Saudi Arabia and the exciting opportunities for business.
Neil Crompton, His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, commented: “Saudi Arabia and the UK have a long and historic relationship, and our relationship is flourishing and modernising in ways that reflect the changes in both countries. The Department for International Trade (DIT) team at the British Embassy has wide ranging sectoral expertise, and can provide advice on how to find a local partner and other bespoke assistance in supporting UK companies’ trade in the Kingdom.” He continues: “We are excited about the future of the UK-Saudi trade relationship and believe Saudi Arabia represents one of the most promising markets overseas.”
Since its inception, the Global RLI Awards in association with Gold Partner, Chalhoub Group have paid tribute to the very best in the world of retail and leisure, having been held in London, Dubai and Los Angeles over the last sixteen years. The Global RLI Awards follows RLI Connect Global, our renowned Global Deal-Making Event, to take place at The Crowne Plaza Riyadh RDC, in association with Destination Partner Diriyah Square, Platinum Partner Sands Retail and Gold Partner Al-Futtaim Malls with one simple objective: face-time with key global retail and leisure decision makers, creating a sustained platform for doing business and building value through strategic partnerships on a global scale.
