Le mie ricette per la real estate communityAXA Real Estate Investment Managers (“AXA Real Estate”), one of the world’s largest real estate portfolio and asset managers with over €46 billion of assets under management as of June 2013, today announces that it has further strengthened its North American team with the appointment of Steve McCarthy as U.S Head of Asset Management and Transactions. Steve will be based in AXA Real Estate’s office in New York and report to Olivier Thoral, AXA Real Estate’s Head of North America.
Steve will be responsible for sourcing and executing acquisitions and disposals on behalf of AXA Real Estate’s United States and European based funds or separate accounts, in addition to presenting club and other transaction based deals to institutional investors in accordance with their specific investment requirements. He will also be responsible for overseeing all aspects of asset management in the U.S to ensure client returns are maximised.
Steve joins AXA Real Estate from his role as Co-founder and Principal of MXA Capital, a real estate investment advisory company focused on the acquisition of value-add office properties in the U.S on behalf of institutional investors.
Prior to MXA Capital, Steve was Chief Operating Officer at Greenprint Foundation (renamed the ULI Greenprint Center for Building Performance), a coalition of global real estate investors committed to increasing property values through reducing energy usage and carbon emissions.
During his 30 years’ in real estate investment management, Steve also held senior positions in the U.S at Buchanan Street Partners, WestWind Capital Partners LP and Jones Lang Wootton and in the UK at Tishman Speyer Properties.
Steve earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.
