UBS-AM Real Estate & Private Markets’ UK Real Estate Outlook – Edition 1H20 focuses both on the past 12 months and the year ahead in order to give an updated outlook for the UK market in 2020.
Total returns for 2019 look set to come in well below a modest 2.4%, which was the consensus forecast from the start of the year, and the team predicts that economic growth is unlikely to pick-up in the coming year while Brexit uncertainty looms over the market, but interest rates will be supportive of yields. Additionally, returns should improve in 2020 as retail correction eases back with some upside potential in Central London.
