Cordea Savills appoints Managing Director to grow its Italian business
Cordea Savills, the international property investment manager, has appointed Giuseppe Oriani as Managing Director of its Italian subsidiary based in Milan. The appointment forms part of Cordea Savills’ strategy to grow its business in this key market. Giuseppe has been appointed Managing Director of Cordea Savills SGR S.p.A which is regulated by the Bank of Italy and in which he has acquired a minority stake, with Cordea Savills remaining as the majority shareholder. In the scope of his role, he will develop new business initiatives in Italy as part of the Cordea Savills Group strategy and will also be responsible for investor relationships for existing Italian funds. In addition, Pierluigi Solitario joins Cordea Savills SGR S.p.A as Director of Business Development and will support Giuseppe in expanding the business. Giuseppe and Pierluigi join the existing SGR management team with Justin O’Connor as Chairman, Salvatore Ruoppolo as Head of Investment, Paola Fiorini, Chief Operating Officer and Cristiano Ronchi, Director of Investment.

Areas of particular focus will include investment products in core real estate assets, financially distressed real estate portfolios and single asset mandates for institutional investors and high net worth individuals.”
Prior to joining Cordea Savills, Giuseppe was at Hideal Partners where he was a founding partner of the firm formed as a result of the successful management buyout of a portfolio of European real estate and infrastructure activities from Babcock & Brown. Over a two and a half year period, Giuseppe led and completed more than 14 M&A transactions for Hideal involving the sale of assets in Italy, Greece, Germany and the UK. Whilst at Babcock & Brown, Giuseppe led the Group’s European non-core asset disposal plan, which involved the sale of real estate and renewable energy assets across Europe with a combined value of more than EUR 2.5 billion. He also has 18 years of investment banking experience in London and Milan. Giuseppe holds an MBA Finance from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Rome, La Sapienza.
Pierluigi Solitario also joins Cordea Savills from Hideal Partners where he was a Senior Financial Advisor for infrastructure projects, renewable energy assets and the telecommunications industry, responsible for deal origination, structuring, negotiation and execution. Prior to that, Pierluigi gained 12-years’ finance and investment banking experience at Babcock & Brown in the Structured Finance and Real Estate teams. Pierluigi is a Chartered Accountant with a degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Domestic and International Taxation from Università Commerciale L. Bocconi in Milan.
