Francoforte, apre a “Gateway Gardens” il primo Hyatt Place Hotel in Germania

In Gateway Gardens, the new district of the City of Frankfurt, the Hyatt Place Frankfurt Airport is today celebrating its inauguration. The first hotel of this brand in Germany is located in the heart of Gateway Gardens, next to the rapid transit station and the District Park. The hotel is directly linked to the terminals of Frankfurt Airport by a footpath, a shuttle bus, and as from the end of 2019 via the rapid transit network, too.

On an area of around 19,000 square metres, the striking new structure offers 312 rooms, around 110 underground parking slots, a restaurant and a bar, two shops, a 24-hour fitness centre and five meeting and conference rooms with daylight for up to 136 people. The open-plan lobby offers food round the clock in a Gallery Market, including a takeaway option. In the “Zoom Glocal Dining” restaurant, freshly prepared dishes featuring a combination of regional and global ingredients are served. To the rear, the building opens into the “Gateway Garden” public park, with its venerable stock of trees. As from December 2019, the hotel will have direct access to the new rapid transit station of Gateway Gardens. This ensures optimal links to Frankfurt’s inner city and the airport.

The hotel was built on behalf of the Feuring Group by a consortium consisting of Bilfinger Hochbau GmbH and Karl Gemünden GmbH, with construction work beginning in early 2016. Back in March 2016, Union Investment had signed a forward purchase agreement with the Feuring Group for acquiring the hotel after completion for the UniImmo: Global Open Public Property Fund. The Feuring Group will operate the hotel as the lessee for the next 30 years under the Hyatt Place brand.

To quote Matthias Lowin, Managing Director of the Feuring Group: “We’re delighted that as of today we shall be able to welcome our guests in Germany’s first Hyatt Place Hotel. With our innovative concept, we are distinctively different from other providers. The green of the park is echoed in the lobby, with a mix of natural materials, colours and different shades of green, inviting our guests to linger. This unique design concept, and Hyatt’s excellent operational management, make our hotel at the airport into something very special.”

“The Hyatt Place is designed for guests who embrace a dynamic lifestyle, never stand still, and never settle for anything but the best,” explains Jan Peter van der Ree, Managing Director of Hyatt Services GmbH in Germany. “With our “#WhySettle” campaign, we are targeting those who never stand still. We’re also delighted that we can here progress our long-standing and successful collaboration with Feuring.”

Volker Noack, a member of the board at Union Investment Real Estate GmbH, says: “We see the Hyatt Place Frankfurt Airport as an attractive investment for several reasons: these include the proximity to the airport and the long-term tenancy agreement, plus the strong, innovative Hyatt Place brand, which is now represented in our portfolio for the first time.”

“We are very proud that Gateway Gardens is the location for the first Hyatt Place Hotel in Germany,” says Stefan Bockstaller, Project Manager Gateway Gardens at Fraport AG. “The hotel’s concept superbly reflects the internationality and dynamism of Gateway Gardens, and constitutes a striking addition to the overall stock of hotels in both our business district and in Frankfurt as a whole.”

With a planned gross floor area of 700,000 square metres, on a site measuring 35 hectares, Gateway Gardens is one of the biggest district development projects at an airport city in Europe. Gateway Gardens was the first business district to be awarded the DGNB platinum certificate for its sustainability. A marketing ratio of 44 per cent has meanwhile been reached.
